Last spring and summer, during trips to Sderot and Ashkelon, “expert” after “expert” talked about how Sderot wouldn’t be the first Israeli Negev town to absorb the daunting blows of rocket attacks from Gaza. The rate of missile attacks on Ashkelon would increase, and then pretty soon we’d be looking at Ashdod, and then next ...Tel Aviv.

Ashdod has now been hit by Katyusha Grad rockets.

BZD Considering Rally, Mission

Baltimore Zionist District (BZD) has felt the extreme sense of urgency from both Baltimore and Ashkelon these past days.
On Monday morning, it held a video conference for local media and elected officials to get a feel from Ashkelon residents what it is like live in a state of fear and helplessness, and to put a human face on the suffering from the Israeli side.

Baltimore shows solidarity and support for Ashkelon.

The Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore will be approaching Jewish day schools and synagogue-based schools to participate in an Ashkelon card and photo campaign.

The idea is for Baltimoreans to show their solidarity and support for the people of their sister Israeli city, Ashekon.
