Dori Chait

Canton resident Dori Chait has a simple philosophy when she cooks. Two words, actually – “fast” and “easy.”

This mother of 22-month-old Zachery will often adapt recipes from family members and magazines to fit her family’s needs.

She and her husband, Seth, created this vegetarian chili recipe. “We had gotten a slow cooker for our wedding and we developed it together. My husband is a great cook,” she says.

What makes this recipe great, she adds, is its versatility. Her husband eats it over pasta; she enjoys it plain. She also notes that it tastes good over baked potatoes, in tortillas and over rice. You can also add ground beef or turkey (brown before adding to the slow cooker) or your favorite vegetables.
