Susan Fleischer
Reisterstown resident Susan Fleischer enjoys cooking — particularly traditional Jewish fare. Several of her specialties are chicken soup and a sweet noodle kugel. Whenever she prepares the kugel for a holiday, she always makes two — one to bring to the family gathering, the second to save for a future dinner.
Fleischer’s family also raves about her mandel bread. She began making it 15 years ago and her father claims it’s the most similar to his mother’s recipe. “People ask for it wherever I go,” says Fleischer. The secret, she adds, is that it is “very crunchy, has a good texture and you can taste the different flavors in it.”
Married to Myles, Fleischer has two daughters, Sydney, 11, and Lily, 7, who attend Franklin Elementary. She also works part-time for Just Posters.
