Tracey Robbins

Tracey Robbins has several tricks when she cooks for her family Ñ sons Max, 9, Jake, 6, and husband Billy, a general sales manager at WNUV-TV. First of all, she finds recipes in cookbooks and often adapts them for her family. Sometimes she might change the type of fish a recipe calls for, substituting tilapia or cod in place of other suggestions.
Second, she often uses the crockpot. “I’m in and out of the house and I don’t have time to stand in front of the stove,” she says. Finally, Robbins hopes to incorporate healthy eating habits whenever she cooks. Take one of her family’s favorite recipes. It’s a meatloaf. What is the secret ingredient? Eggplant. “I never tell what’s in it. I try to start with good habits,” she says.
