I am: a 1999 graduate of the Park School, received my B.A. from Dickinson College and my master’s in applied linguistics from Georgetown. Currently, I teach 8th-grade French, Spanish and kindergarten yoga at Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School. I also teach yoga for kids at Yoga on York, and at the Pikesville Charm City yoga studio.
Why yoga for kids? When I started doing yoga, I thought about how much it would have benefited me physically and emotionally when I was a child. Yoga helps kids to build strength, develop fine and gross motor skills, deal with the stress of studying, test preparation and homework. It also helps them to express and cope with emotions in an appropriate way.
If I hadn’t become a teacher: I might have become a dancer!
