Dealing with a dysfunctional family (alcoholic dad, pregnant self-absorbed mother, ex-con lesbian aunt) and nerdy boyfriend can be hard enough. Add to that being a teenager contending with a disease that causes premature aging, and you have the hilarious and heartbreaking Kimberly Akimbo, the black comedy presented by the Vagabond Players April 18 through May 18. Maryland House and Garden Pilgrimage Tour

The 2008 Maryland House and Garden Pilgrimage will feature a line-up of more than 60 of Maryland’s most fascinating and noteworthy properties. Each year, the staff and volunteers of the MHGP coordinate a multi-county spring tour that gives visitors an inside look at extraordinary historic and contemporary sites, and at the same time, a fun way to support a worthy cause. The tours will be held in Talbot County (April 26), Kent County (May 3), Mount Vernon in Baltimore City (May 4), Calvert County (May 10), Washington County (May 17) and Oella in Baltimore County (May 18). Proceeds from Pilgrimage ticket sales will support designated preservation projects in each host community.Tickets for each tour are $30.00 if purchased in advance, and $35 if purchased on the day of tour.
