While attempting to perform in Belgrade recently, the Brit chanteuse was booed off the stage when she showed up an hour late and appeared to be quite stoned, stumbling around and slurring the lyrics to her tune, “Just Friends.” She even greeted her fans by shouting, “Hello, Athens!” (Ooops!)
Later, Winehouse, 27, apologized for her behavior and canceled her upcoming performances in Istanbul and Athens.
In a statement following the Belgrade balagan, Winehouse’s management said, “Despite feeling sure that she wanted to fulfill these commitments, she has agreed with management that she cannot perform to the best of her ability and will return home. … She would like to apologize to fans expecting to see her at the shows but feels that this is the right thing to do.”
