The beautiful Israeli actress Ayelet Zurer, best known for her role as Vittoria Vetra in “Angels & Demons,” the 2008 sequel to “The Da Vinci Code,” will play Superman’s Kryptonian mom in the film “Man Of Steel,” which is planned for a theatrical release in 2013.
Zurer, 42, was born and raised in Tel Aviv. She moved to New York after serving in the Israeli army, to learn how to be an actress. In 2003, she starred in “Nina’s Tragedies,” as a passionate young woman who builds a life for herself after her husband’s sudden death. Zurer won an Israeli Academy Award for this role.
Her first international role was in Steven Spielberg’s “Munich,” in which she played Eric Bana’s ‘s wife.
