Yes, the recent break-up of Al and Tipper Gore, after 40 years of matrimony, politics and tree-hugging, was a stunner. But in some ways, so was the announced parting of ways between “Lost” star Naveen Andrews and actress/cougar Barbara Hershey.
After all, the couple, who were together for a dozen years, survived a sizable age gap – 21 years, to be precise. Ms. Hershey (born Barbara Lynn Herstein) is 62, the British-born Mr. Andrews is 41.
And to boot, Ms. Hershey – best-known for her roles in Woody Allen’s “Hannah and Her Sisters” and “Beaches” with Bette Midler—managed to overlook a nasty bump in the road in their relationship when Mr. Andrews admitted in 2005 that he fathered a child with another woman. (How many ladies could go on after something like that?)
Seems that the two actors – who met on the set of the 1999 indie flick “Drowning On Dry Land”—went splitsville about six months ago. “They remain best of friends,” Mr. Andrews’s manager, Renee Jennet, told People. (Of course they are.)
BTW, for you fans of Ms. Hershey, the actress will co-star with Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis in Darren Aronofsky’s follow-up to “The Wrestler,” titled “Black Swan.”
