The divine Miss Bette Midler has a bone to pick with Lady Gaga. She says Gaga stole her shtick when she rolled onto stage in a wheelchair and dressed as a mermaid in a show recently in Australia.
“I’ve been doing singing mermaid in a wheelchair since 1980,” tweeted Bette. ”You can keep the meat dress and the firecracker [breasts]. Mermaid’s mine.”
However, in a following tweet, Midler, 65, seemed to have mellowed out. “Let’s drink this over at the Emmys in September,” she wrote. “Fabulous mermaids can coexist!”
