First, he stops writing new songs. Now, Billy Joel announces he has decided against writing his upcoming memoir.
The 62-year-old Piano Man was set to go through with “The Book Of Joel,” be released in June by HarperCollins. But the “My Life” singer decided to stop the autobiography’s publication.
“It took working on writing a book to make me realize that I’m not all that interested in talking about the past, and that the best expression of my life and its ups and downs has been and remains my music,” he said in a statement to CNN.
Billy signed a $3 million deal to write the book in ‘08, but will now return the advance he has already received to the publishers.
Bummer for him … and us.
