On “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” last week, Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers spoke about the ensemble re-recording of “We Are The World,” in which he participated to help raise money for Haitian earthquake victims.
But in the middle of discussing this worthy endeavor, NicJo slammed a man whose impact on popular music and culture over the past 50 years is arguably immeasurable—Bob Dylan.
Jonas, 17, told Jimmy that the benefit record’s producers wanted rapper Lil Wayne to sing the solo originally warbled back in ’85 by Dylan.
“He said, `I can’t sing,’” a smirking Jonas said of Lil Wayne. “And I’m like, `Exactly. Perfect.’” Never one to miss a beat, Kimmel responded, “Nick Jonas says Bob Dylan can’t sing.”
We hear what you’re saying, Nicky, Bob ain’t no Pavarotti. But at the same time, let us know when you or one of your talent-challenged bros write a “Blowin’ In The Wind” or “Masters Of War,” and then we’ll listen to your snickering session, punk.
BTW, Jonas was given the Billy Joel part in the new “We Are The World.” The Piano Man should sue.
