Can Carrie Fisher really ever slip back into that “Star Wars”-era gold bikini again? Let’s hope so.
The former Princess Leia, now 54 and quite zaftig says she’s going to give it her best shot, with the help of good ol’ Jenny Craig. The weight-loss program is taking on Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds’ “little” girl as its celebrity weight-loser spokesperson.
“I have been on every diet in the world,” Fisher said in her new commercials, committing to lose 30 pounds under Jenny’s program. She said she’s “more hopeful now than ever” about losing weight and keeping it off.
“I would like to have the option of getting back into the metal bikini,” Carrie said. “I won’t be doing that, but I’d like the option.”
Carrie’s already lost 12 pounds on the portion-control focused plan and is aiming to lose around 30 in total.
“I’ve jumped out of planes. Just last week, I jumped off a cliff in Jamaica,” she told Us. “I’m pretty fearless, but my scale is frightening. So I would go to the doctor and I would stand not facing it. That’s an adult! I have a child. So that’s something I’d like to not do anymore, be frightened of the scale.”
The final straw for Carrie? Being compared to the Rocket Man, Captain Fantastic, Sir Elton.
“I Googled myself recently without a lubricant and I came across a posting that someone made about me which was, `Whatever happened to Carrie Fisher? She used to be so hot, now she looks like Elton John,’” she said. “Yeah, that hurt.”
At least no one was comparing her to her ex-husband, Paul Simon. Of course, she’s too tall.
