Funny-as-heck Chelsea Handler will be hosting the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards on Sept. 12.
Handler, best known for her candid books and her shenanigans on her late-night talk show “Chelsea Lately,” will make some history by becoming only the second woman to fly solo on the show.
“This has been a huge year for hip-hop and rap, and it is well-known that I have the closest ties with these communities — musically and sexually,” Handler says. “I am to rap and hippity-hop what Warren Buffet is to finance, minus the sex.”
Among the expected stars at L.A.’s Nokia Theater for the 27th annual VMAs will be Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Drake, B.o.B, and Florence + The Machine, and presenters Ke$ha, Nicki Minaj, Emma Stone, Penn Badgley, Trey Songz, Ashley Greene, Selena Gomez, and Ne-Yo.
