Pretty little Claire Danes recently turned up in the Jewish state to film scenes for a new TV series based on an Israeli show.
The 31-year-old Danes – who last month snatched a Golden Globe award for best actress in the HBO production of “Temple Grandin”—is filming the Fox television series “Patriots,’ which is based on the Israeli series “Kidnapped” in which Israeli soldiers return to their homeland after 17 years of being held as prisoners of war in Lebanon.
In the series, she plays Carrie Anderson, a CIA agent who is leery of a U.S. Marine who happens to reappear after being taken prisoner and presumed dead during the U.S. invasion of Iraq way back in 2003.
Filming is happening as we speak in the Arab-Israeli village of Barta’a, which is in the Haifa district and was transformed into an authentic Iraqi street, according to Ynet. During the shooting, the Manhattan-born Danes will “slum it” in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, Ynet
reported.
