The popular Brit band Coldplay recently raised some eyebrows when it posted a music video titled “Freedom for Palestine” on its Facebook page, and then mysteriously deleted the link. (Talk about taking a stand and abandoning it.)
The group, fronted by Chris Martin, did not comment on the matter. The post with the video, made by the group Freedom OneWorld, drew about 12,000 comments, including about 6,000 “likes,” according to The Palestinian Telegraph. (There were also many, shall we say, choice words from the pro-Israel side.)
The clip depicts images of Palestinian kids, the West Bank, checkpoints and a graffiti-adorned Israeli barrier.
Maybe Martin decided to kill the link after his wife, actress Gwyneth Paltrow, got on his case about it. (FYI, not long ago, Gwyneth complained that marriage is “hard” and “complicated.” Sounds like there’s trouble in paradise.)
