Remember when after Kurt Cobain killed himself in 1994, ex-rock star-turned-media personality Ted Nugent drew heat for saying that the Nirvana frontman’s daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, would be better off if her mom, Courtney Love, did herself in as well?
Well, it goes without saying that was a horrible and stupid thing to say. But recently, Ms. Love, a troubled person for sure, lost custody of Frances, now 17. Two legal guardians have been appointed to care for her.
According to legal documents originally obtained by TMZ.com, the court has appointed Kurt Cobain’s mother, Wendy O’Connor, and his sister, Kimberly Dawn Cobain, to watch over Frances temporarily
In 2003, Frances was temporarily placed under the care of O’Connor after Love was arrested and accused in an attempted break-in at an ex-boyfriend’s home. She also overdosed on painkillers and made a suicide threat. Love admitted a misdemeanor charge of being under the influence of a controlled substance. She regained custody in 2005.
