Bono and Broza—What took so long?
U2’s frontman/resident humanitarian has joined Israeli musician/peace activist David Broza with a cadre of international artists for “Songs Around The World,” a new CD released by the American-based peace organization Playing for Change.
The 49-year-old Irish rocker (born Paul Hewson) and Mr. Broza, 53, cover Bob Marley’s “War/No More Trouble” on the album and appear in the tune’s video.
Also on the song are violinist Radwin Nizar of Israel’s Arab/Jewish Orchestra and darbuka drum player Ramzi Bishara of Nazareth (the Israeli city, not the ‘70s rock band of “Love Hurts” fame).
