David Duchovny
Loving Leoni (Again)
September 15, 2009OK, so a guy develops a little sex addiction, even though he has a gorgeous movie star wife. It happens. That doesn’t mean he’s not a good family man.
David Duchovny was seen recently at the Toronto Film Festival, promoting his new flick “The Joneses.” But not with the 49-year-old ex-“The X-Files” star were his wife, Téa Leoni, and their kids, Madelaine West, 10, and Kyd Miller, 7.
”I had to leave them this morning to come here,” said Mr. Duchovny. But he assured People magazine that “everything is great,” calling Ms. Leoni a “great partner, wife, and mother.”
The couple separated last fall after Mr. Duchovny entered a rehab facility for sexual addiction. But they’ve since reunited, largely for their children’s sake according to sources.
Recently, the family went on a cross-country trip. “Just watching them relate to new people and new experiences – it’s just great seeing them as little people,” said Mr. Duchovny.
Derrick Borte, director of “The Joneses,” raved about David’s dad skills. “I’d go visit him in his trailer and one of them is hiding in the cabinets in there and they’re running around ... climbing all over him,” he said. “He’s a prankster and a jokester and really keeps everybody fresh and loose just by his humor. [He’s] just a very funny guy. Very warm and giving and fun to work with. ... And the smartest guy in the room.”
Well, not always that smart.
