September 23, 2009Word comes from TMZ that Howard K. Stern – no, not the shock-jock but Anna Nicole Smith’s attorney-turned-beau—will be charged with five additional charges related to allegedly conspiring to furnish the late model with drugs.
Mr. Stern and Smith’s doctors, Khristine Eroshevich and Dr. Sandeep Kapoor, are already facing six felony charges in the case.
Stern, Kapoor and Eroshevich face a potential of 33 years behind bars, according to California Attorney General Jerry Brown. Both doctors were also charged with one count each of obtaining a prescription for opiates by fraud, deceit or misrepresentation and prescribing opiates by giving a false name or address.
All three were also charged with “prescribing, or dispensing a controlled substance to an addict.”
Mr. Stern’s attorney has said in the past that his client will “ultimately be exonerated.”
