Rumor has it that Howard Stern might take over Simon Cowell’s place on “American Idol.” And already, the shock-jock has demonstrated he knows how to be just as mean and thoughtless as the Brit impresario.
On his radio show, Mr. Stern recently didn’t hold back on what he thinks of new “Idol” judge Ellen DeGeneres. First, he addressed Ellen’s deal as a spokesperson with Covergirl.
“Ellen DeGeneres looks like somebody punched her in the face,” he said. “She gets on that Covergirl and you’d think she’s Heidi Klum.”
As for her role on the world’s favorite singing contest, he said, “[Ms. DeGeneres is] going to ruin ‘American Idol.’ Everyone goes, `If Howard Stern takes over “American Idol,” Ellen DeGeneres might leave.’ Well yeah, that’s the whole [expletive] idea. I’m not going to sit there with her – that dummy.”
Ms. Stern declined to say if he’s joining “Idol” or not, but he claimed he heard from a celebrity who is all for the idea of him serving as a judge on the show.
“This is a woman, a very well-respected woman,” he said. “She said to me, I never watched ‘American Idol’ but I tell you, if you are on it, I will watch it.”
But Ellen probably won’t.
