Joan Rivers and Sarah Palin.
It was bound to happen, folks.
The comedienne said she was recently informed that a joke she made about the former Alaska governor, filmed by TMZ.com, cost her a booking on “Fox And Friends,” the morning program of the Fox News Channel. She and and her daughter, Melissa, were slated to appear on “Fox And Friends” to promote their new reality series, “Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best?”
But Ms. Rivers and her publicist, Judy Katz, were informed by a “Fox And Friends” producer that the appearance was scotched because of remarks she made about Palin, a paid contributor to Fox News.
In the video, Joan said at a party, “I think Sarah Palin is an amazing woman. I think she represents everything a strong woman should be and she should go someplace, like to another planet, and show them and get out of our faces. … This woman is just stupid and a threat.”
Still, Joan, 77, wasn’t too upset about the lost booking and said that Palin, whose reality program, “Sarah Palin’s Alaska,” was recently shown on TLC, was jealous of the “Joan & Melissa” series.
“We’ve got Melissa naked and she shows killing a moose,” she said. “Which would you watch?”
Tough call, Joanie.
