The lovely, talented and seemingly ageless Julia Louis-Dreyfus has had a good deal of bad luck lately.
Despite her famous break from what was billed as “the Seinfeld curse,” Ms. Louis-Dreyfus, 49, recently had her name misspelled on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She took the matter in stride, however, laughing it off and saying it was apropos for a field as flawed, fickle and unpredictable as show biz.
But in a stunning move, CBS recently axed her fine comedy “The New Adventures of Old Christine.” Seems the show had run its course with CBS honchos (and maybe the viewing public). Guess they thought “Old Christine” was old hat.
“There’s a 50/50 shot that ‘Christine’ will move to ABC,” said a source. The series debuted as a midseason replacement in March 2006 and ran for five seasons. Not a bad run.
CBS also canceled “Ghost Whisperer,” starring the nubile Jennifer Love Hewitt.
