Last Sunday afternoon, while kickin’ back and watching the big Ravens-Patriots Wild Card playoff game, you might’ve noticed a name that sounded “potentially Hebraic” — Julian Edelman.
Well, yep, you were right once again, the 23-year-old wide receiver is Jewish on his dad’s side, according to his old college roommate at Kent State, Sam Frist. Mr. Frist says the hunky Mr. Edelman, a native of Redwood City, Calif., considers himself Jewish.
While the Patriots got whupped badly by our Ravens, Mr. Edelman played pretty well and caught six passes from Tom Brady for 44 yards, including both of the Patriots’ touchdowns. He became the first rookie to score two receiving touchdowns in a post-season game since the Lions’ David Sloan in the 1995—96 season.
Not too shabby, Jules.
