Comments (0)Keith Lieberthal obviously has nothin’ to worry about. His lovely wife of three years, actress Julianna Margulies, says she has no time, energy or interest in infidelity, which happens to be a strong theme on her current TV series “The Good Wife.”
“I think that when you have gotten things out of your system, you are less tempted by distractions,” Julianna, 44, recently told Redbook. “My only temptations now are chocolate and martinis.
“I think the hardest thing about cheating would not be the physical act, it would be the trust you break,” she said. “I’m very happy with where my life is, but for someone like Alicia [her character on the show] … the temptation of being sexually desirable is huge.”
When asked why women seem to cheat less than men, she responded, “We are tired! With all of the things we do in our lives, what woman has the time to fit in an affair?”
Julianna is pretty busy herself. Besides a thriving career, the former “ER” actress and her husband have a 2-year-old son, Kieran.
“I wasn’t someone who enjoyed being around lots of little kids before I had my son. But now I see the world through their eyes,” she said. “I got some interesting offers to work during `The Good Wife’s’ hiatus, but I wanted to spend the time with my family.”
So to reference her show’s title, is Julianna a good wife? She offers a particularly busy day as proof that she is.
“I got up at 5:30 [a.m.] with the baby, went to work at 6:30 for 12 hours, grocery shopped, cooked dinner, and then later, my husband and I made love,” she said. “We both looked at each other that night and said, `This day will never happen again!’”
