Now, Mr. Black – who authored the children’s book “Chicken Cheeks” – has come out with “The Purple Kangaroo,” and he is also releasing a “making-of” video that shows the collaboration between illustrator Peter Brown and himself. (Black and Brown?)
“Here’s the thing,” said Mr. Black, 38, who has a son, Elijah, and a daughter, Ruth, “I really feel like the kangaroo needs to have just a little bit of sex appeal.” He says this in a scene from the video wearing kangaroo ears and encouraging Mr. Brown to draw the character with his legs behind his head.
Where does this guy get his ideas?
