Yes, Virginia, there will be a “Scream 4.” And pretty little Neve Campbell will be returning as the heroine.
There had been some speculation that Neve’s character, plucky Sidney Prescott, was going to be killed off. But according to press reports from the Wes Craven slasher’s set, Sidney is alive and well and has written a well-received book in the years following the events of “Scream 3.” (Of course, she is once again pursued by the masked serial killer known as “Ghostface.”)
Besides Ms. Campbell, 36, the rest of the “Scream” gang will be back, including Courteney Cox and David Arquette.
Also appearing in “S4” is hunky Adam Brody, formerly of “The O.C.” and “Jennifer’s Body.” He plays the role of Det. Hoss, a policeman and college grad raised on the “CSI” TV franchise.
“S4” is slated for an April 15, 2011, release.
