Perry Farrell knows how to throw a party. The frontman for the alt-rock band Jane’s Addiction recently had a soiree at Bardot, an intimate club in Hollywood, which attracted more than 100 people, including actor Joaquin Phoenix, musician Tom Morello and Duff McKagan, the new bass player for the 51-year-old Mr. Farrell (who was born Perry Bernstein). The show marked the band’s debut with Mr. McKagan, formerly of Guns N’ Roses.
At the party at Bardot, Jane’s Addiction played a half-hour set, roughly seven songs, with Farrell stopping halfway to lead the crowd in singing “Happy Birthday” to Mr. McKagan’s wife, supermodel Susan Holmes.
Also at the show, the band played a brand new song, “Soulmate,” the first new tune to emerge from Jane’s Addiction since 2003’s “Strays.”
