It seems like yesterday that Woody Allen split up (in a very messy, much publicized way) with his longtime lover, Mia Farrow, after carrying on shamelessly with her young, adopted daughter, Soon-Yi Previn (who’s now The Woodman’s wife). Those were great days for tabloids. But believe it or not, that was 20 years ago.
Now, word comes down the pike that Mia and Woody’s biological son, Ronan Farrow (nee Satchel Ronan O’Sullivan Farrow), recently learned that he has been named the recipient of a Rhodes Scholarship. (That’s a much more pleasant story to report.)
Ronan, 23, works for the U.S. State Department as a special adviser to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on global youth issues. A graduate of Yale Law School and Bard College, he will be studying international development at Oxford University.
“Rhodes is a great honor & opportunity. But for now very focused on fostering youth jobs and voices,” Ronan tweeted.
Also named a Rhodes Scholars recently was Princeton University senior Miriam Rosenbaum, who will study bioethics at Oxford.
“I am very excited to learn from all the other scholars and hope I can be a role model, especially for Orthodox Jewish girls to get an education and strive to do whatever you can,” she told the New York Post.
