Sasha Cohen—no, not the “Borat” guy but the adorable figure skater—says she’s more than ready to hit the ice next month at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
“This is for me, because I want to do it,” Sasha, now 25, an Olympic silver medalist and three-time world medalist, recently told NBC. “I want to perform again.”
Some folks have their doubts about Ms. Cohen, since she left the sport four years ago to explore acting (“Las Vegas,” “CSI: NY,” “Blades Of Glory,” “Bratz: The Movie,” “Moonlight Alexander”) and going to college.
“Everybody thinks so many different things,” she said. “Some people love me, some people hate me. Some people think I’m going to compete for the next 10 years, some people were ready to write me off five years ago. You can’t listen to what people say.”
Sasha says she remains confident. “I’ve trained my butt off this year,” she said. “Things haven’t been easy, but it really is true—that which does not kill you makes you stronger.”
You can quote her on that.
