Are the Simpsons members of the tribe? Let’s hope not. We have enough dysfunctional families. But media reports quote the long-running TV show’s executive director, Al Jean, saying that the planet’s best-loved cartoon family is heading to Israel next year.
“I think we’re going to do one [episode] next year where they go to the Holy Land, as we haven’t been there yet,” he said. “The premise will be that the Christians, the Jews and Muslims are united in that they all get mad at Homer.
It’s the only thing they can agree on.”
In past episodes, the Simpsons have traveled to England, France, Japan and Australia. If they’re smart, they’ll take Krusty The Clown, voiced by Jackie Mason, with them on this trip to the Middle East.
