A Jewish Oriole?

Hey Jeff,

I am certainly aware of this. In fact, I figured skipping him in that list. But, while you or I certainly may not consider him Jewish, I believe he still identifies as Jewish.

Interesting that if you don’t count Newhan as a Jew, the last Jewish player to bat for the Orioles was Mike Epstein in the 1960s!

One correction in the list of Jewish Orioles: David Newhan may have been born Jewish, and may be “halachically” Jewish; but he is no longer Jewish, having converted to Christianity and being active in one of those unfortunately-named “Messianic Jewish congregations”.
