It is for these very reasons that I am dedicating the next few months of my life to support David Brog’s efforts.
Working with amazing Christian supporters of Israel in Texas (http://www.texansforisrael.com/) I am traveling the highways and byways of this great land to herald the work of Pastors John, Diane and Matthew Hagee, David Brog, Pastor Victor Styrsky, Shari, John Sutherland, Pastor Ortiz and all of the 500,000 strong CUFI membership!
The majority of the Jewish community is rightly concerned. They have never met Christians like these and thus have no reason to trust them. One must open their mind and open their heart and listen to these amazing people, look deeply into their eyes and see the true depth of their soul in order to understand.
It will take time, maybe a few generations, but the Jewish world will learn that these are NOT the Christians of Constantine, of Rome, of the KKK or of the Inquisition. These are like no other Christians we have encountered in 2,000 years of exile.
These are true men and women, boys and girls of G-d, who cherish His people, His land and His Torah and are angered by the false teachings they have been fed for at least 1,600 years if not longer. They truly offer us their love and affection and are horrified to learn of the crimes and murderous actions of their co-religionists over the centuries in the name of the messiah of their belief system.
These amazing people grew up without knowing of blood libels or Shylocks or “Jew me down”. They grew up with righteous parents who taught them that G-d is of the Jews and that Jesus was a Jew and that to honor a Jew is to honor the One True G-d.
Are ALL Christian evangelicals the same? Do they all want our good and not our “eternal soul?” Of course not. But are there millions upon millions, numbers that no Jew can fathom, who believe with true heart and true soul that they MUST NEVER HARM A JEW or seek his or her soul? YES, I have met thousands of them, I have studied with hundreds of them, I have broken (kosher) bread with dozens of them and I have made the same proverbial leap of faith that David Brog, Rabbi Aryeh Sheinberg, Rabbi Shlomo Riskin, Jon and Michael Medved, Michael Oren, Rabbi Pesach Lerner, Shlomo Mostofsky, Rabbi Shaya Kilimnick, Rabbi Eliezer Ben-Yehuda, Rabbi Chaim Wasserman, Rabbi Chaim Richman, David HaIvri, Malcolm Hoenlein and so many other talmidei Chachamim and Torah true Jews have made and decided to trust them, embrace them, and encourage them to grow and grow in strength and numbers - so help me HaShem, the One and Only G-d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and my personal ancestor, Aaron.
