It comes as no surprise that football is one of America’s favorite spectator sports. And what’s better than being at home, cozy and warm with the best seats in the house on your biggest television? Times often can vary depending on East Coast or West Coast starts, but menus can reflect these times. Lunch or dinner, the menus can be either ethnic or all-American to feed a hungry crowd.

Remember, too, that this doesn’t have to be a beer-only event. Many fans would rather sip wines that pair with chips and dips as well as chili or beef tenderloin. I did learn about kosher alcoholic beverages recently. All unflavored beers, domestic and imported, with no additives listed on the ingredient label are acceptable, even without a kosher certification. But if you want to serve special kosher beer, look for the Saranac name. They have a kosher 12-pack of assorted beers under the Vaad of Detroit. Also under the Vaad is the Brooklyn Brewery, which has a world-class beer called Black Chocolate Stout. He’Brew Beers offer Messiah Bold and Genesis Ale. If nothing else, I love their names and labels.
