The opportunity employed by Lisa Jacobs — browsing through the JEA lounge in the Park Heights JCC — sets an example for others to spot-check the archives and discover family members (“Sign Of The Times,” Aug. 27).
The loose-leaf books of news clippings and photos of each boys and girls club are meticulously filled and maintained by Bernie Cohen, JEA historian. Most of the sports and activities enjoyed by today’s JCC members were initiated by our relatives at the original East Baltimore location of the Jewish Educational Alliance. The JEA, celebrating its 101st year, served as a role model for our current JCC.
