Previously, Toby Mower, in her Aug. 31 letter to the editor, prevaricated that Barack Obama was the only U.S. president never to visit Israel while in office. Then, we had her Oct. 11 letter with her plagiarizing comment that “either he is malevolent or incompetent.” Why plagiarizing? Because it is clearly an adaptation, without sourcing, of the Napoleonic axiom that one should “never ascribe to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence.”
A leader molds his followers. How sad that so many Mitt Romney supporters, such as Mrs. Mower, wind up in a struggle with truth — and lose.
