Square Off Again
October 9, 2009There was a smile to my face when I read the Sept. 25 article “Just Like Old Times” about Richard Sher returning to TV to moderate the 2009 version of “Square Off.”
Remembering the show in the early ’80s, when anchorman Jerry Turner was the host of the Sunday morning show, brought back memories of when my husband, Howard “Hap” Fader, Ted Sobkov and Larry Richman were invited by Jerry to play a game of “Do you remember?” Larry’s recall was excellent, Ted provided factual information, and if I remember correctly, Hap kept Jerry laughing.
If 25 years ago I could have used a DVR to record the show, just think what a good time we could have had, seeing Jerry chuckling as the guys kept him amused for the 22 minutes on the TV screen.
Wishing Richard good luck on his new, out of retirement, venture.
