Thanks BZD
October 9, 2009The Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) of Greater Washington partnered with the Baltimore Zionist District last week to bring together a sizeable crowd for a rally in Washington, D.C. in response to Iranian President Ahmadinejad’s hate-filled speech to the United Nations General Assembly (“No Nukes Now,” Oct. 2).
The Washington and Baltimore communities stood together calling for freedom from Iranian threats. The Baltimore contingency’s presence was inspiring and played a crucial role in motivating the crowd to step up their advocacy efforts on the important issue of Iranian nuclear weapons, support for international terrorism and human rights abuses.
We thank the powerful contribution the BZD made by sponsoring buses to bring students and community members to the rally. The impact of additional students and others was tremendous. We were honored to work together and look forward to partnering with Baltimore again in our Israel advocacy efforts.
Ronald Halber
Executive Director, JCRC of Greater Washington.
