printRichard and Joyanna Silberg of Baltimore, Md. and Michael and Deborah Gerver of Raanana, Israel, formerly of Brookline, Mass., are happy to announce the engagement of their children, Shira Rachel Silberg and Avraham Moshe “Avi” Gerver.
Shira received an undergraduate degree in anthropology from Barnard College and is currently pursuing a master’s of public health from George Washington University.
Avi received an undergraduate degree in photography & imaging from Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. He is a photographer in New York City.
Shira is the granddaugher of Robert and Evelyn Sanker Silberg of Baltimore, formerly of Silver Spring, and Norman and Sonya Samson of Jerusalem, Israel and the late Edythe Blumert Samson.
Avi is the grandson of Joan Menkin Gerver of New York City and the late Israel Gerver, and the late Leonard Potash and Floryne “Corky” Brookstein Potash of Palo Alto, Calif.
A May 2010 wedding is planned.
