While those of us in Baltimore are basking in the heat of global warming, in Israel, weather has been nothing short of chilly.
After a week of flooding, on Thursday Jerusalem was blanketed in snow. The result was the shut down of public transport. Residents were asked to stay home and avoid driving. Schools were cancelled, too.
Snow also fell in the Golan Heights and the Judean Hills. Snow plows cleared the route from the northern city of Safed to nearby Elifelet on Thursday morning, renewing access to the city that was previously closed off due to a snowstorm.
On Wednesday, 25,000 houses lost electricity.
