Last Sunday afternoon, Roland Park’s Bolton Street Synagogue hosted New York-based musician Shira Kline and her band ShirLaLa for what was billed as an “outrageously hip” children’s concert. More than 100 people attended the gathering. Ms. Kline is a performer and music educator who travels around the country and performs dynamic, interactive concerts.
“ShiraLaLa was amazing fun for both kids and grown-ups,” said Abe Novick, one of the concert organizers. “She and her band were able to bring a really hip and youthful appreciation of Judaism to little children in music and song that’s on their level but also brings out the kid in all of us.”
