Current Wimbledon, U.S. Open and Olympic champion Serena Williams, deemed one of the best tennis players of all time, traveled to the southern Israeli resort town of Eilat on Nov. 7. Williams is vacationing for a few days before starting to train for the next tennis season.
Referred to as the country’s “tennis capital,” Eilat has played host to the Euro-Africa zone group of the Fed Cup Tennis Games over the past three years. The destination is also a popular training ground for other top female tennis players, including Victoria Azarenka, Caroline Wozniacki and Agnieszka Radwańska.
