Easiest Apple Crisp

Ingredients


8 Granny Smith or other tart apples, peeled, cored and sliced
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup flour
7 teaspoons unsalted butter or margarine
3/4 cup sugar

Directions


Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Lightly butter a 7 1/2- by 11 3/4-inch baking dish and scatter the peeled apple slices evenly across the bottom. Pour in the water and sprinkle with the cinnamon and nutmeg. In a small bowl, mix together the flour, butter and sugar with a fork or pastry blender until crumbly. Spread this mixture evenly over the apples. Bake for 30 minutes or until the top is crispy and the apple filling is bubbly. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and drizzle with some honey. Serves 6-8
