Unstuffed Cabbage And Meatballs

Ingredients

2 pounds green cabbage, shredded
3 pounds ground beef
2 eggs
1 cup breadcrumbs
1 medium onion, shredded
1/2 green pepper, finely chopped
2 teaspoons mustard
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 (10-ounce) bottle chili sauce
2/3 cup water
1 (16-ounce) can whole berry cranberry sauce
1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce


Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spread shredded cabbage in large roasting pan. Combine ground beef, eggs, breadcrumbs, onion, green peppers, mustard, garlic powder and black pepper. Shape into about 36 meatballs. Place meatballs over cabbage. Pour chili sauce evenly over meatballs and cabbage. Pour water over the cabbage. Spread cranberry sauce evenly over the meatballs. Put tomato sauce all over. Cover pan tightly with lid or aluminum foil. Bake 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until cabbage is softened.
