Apple Tasting Activity

Materials
* Red, yellow, and green apples; knife; red, yellow, and green stamp pads or paint; 81/2 x 11 white paper

Part I (all age groups) - Apple Tasting
1. Cut apple in half horizontally so that the center of each apple has a star.
2. Show children the “magic” that just like we have a heart inside of us, God has put a star inside of each apple.
3. Taste each color apple and talk about color, texture, and taste (similarities and differences).
4. Older children can pick their favorite.

Part II - Making Rosh Hashanah Cards
1. For 2’s and 3’s, use the other half of the apple. Stamp in the coordinating color stamp pads or in the paint.
2. Apple print all over one side of the paper. An adult can write a Rosh Hashanah greeting on the other side.
3. For the 4’s, have them pick their favorite apple, whether by taste or color. Stamp on one side of the paper and have them write their Rosh Hashanah greeting on the other side.
