On May 27, Sol Ackman of Pikesville at 94. He attended City College and graduated in 1946, where he was captain of the basketball team. He was an excellent athlete and was on many basketball, baseball and softball championship teams. He owned and operated a jewelry store in Westminster for 45 years. He was a member of the merchant association of Westminster. He was a lifelong member of the JEA (Century Club) and served on the board of the JEA Fellowship for many years. He was married to Frances for 73 years. He is survived by daughters Anne (Glenn) McKenzie, Phyllis (Jeff) Brenner and Judy (Stephen) Kelley; grandchildren Matt (Emily) Brenner, Ryan (Alejandra Lopez) Brenner and Kate McKenzie; great-grandchildren Rachel, Madeline and Juliana; and many friends and relatives.
