Last year, news broke that Mitch Winehouse, father of Amy Winehouse, had plans to honor his daughter’s memory by erecting a sculpture of the singer, who died July 23, 2011. Winehouse commissioned artist Scott Eaton, who recently shared, “She’s going to be installed on the balcony in the Roundhouse [Theatre] in the Camden area [of North London], because Camden was her home. So she’s kind of looking back toward the town from the balcony. There are a lot of artistic decisions that I have to make, but … it’s Mitch’s daughter, so I want him to be happy, and I want her family, close friends and relatives all to say, ‘That’s definitely Amy.’”
We can’t wait to see the results.
