On April 22, Henry W. Bernstein of Baltimore at 96. He is survived by children Jay (Dina) Bernstein, Susan (Mark) Biller and Rona (Gerard) Cross; grandchildren Tyler (Katrina) Biller, Jared (Mallory) Biller, Katie Cross, Molly (Austin) Surhoff, Nicole Cross, Emma Cross, Yehuda (Shiri) Bernstein, Atara (Benny Herskovitz) Bernstein and Ezra (Ariella) Bernstein; and great-grandchildren Rayna, Ethan, Ami, Leora and Mason. He was predeceased by wife Irene Bernstein (née Saffron); son Steven Bernstein; and parents Jacob and Sarah Bernstein. During World War II, he served in Europe as a member of the 56th Armored Engineer Battalion, and after the war, had a long and distinguished career as an officer in the Maryland Army National Guard. He was devoted to his family, his faith and his country, and will be remembered as a loving and devoted son, husband, father and grandfather.
