Yom HaShoah with Holocaust Survivor Rosette Priever Fishman Gerbosi
Join the Baltimore Zionist District and guest speaker Rosette Priever Fishman Gerbosi to learn about her prewar life in France, being sent into hiding by her parents and her life after the war. JCS Memory Café
Individuals with memory impairment or changes and their care partners are invited to attend Jewish Community Services’ Memory Café. The event will start at 2 p.m. and last until 3 p.m. at the Pikesville branch of the Baltimore County Public Libraries in the meeting room at 1301 Reisterstown Road. The café will allow attendees to meet and make new friends, enjoy refreshments and participate in other engaging activities and conversation. Attendance is free, but registration is required.

Exploring Broadway: Lerner and Loewe
Embrace the wit and glamour of Broadway and Hollywood musical’s golden era with the Gordon Center. Grab your tickets to see songs by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe performed by Broadway legend Kimilee Bryant. Bryant is best known for playing Christine Daaé in the Broadway production of “The Phantom of the Opera,” Broadway’s longest-running show. The event will be held online from 4 to 5 p.m.

Healing Conversations: A Group for Suicide Loss Survivors
This group offers a space to share and process the grief surrounding the death of a loved one by suicide. This support group is free to attend and will be held on Zoom from 7 to 8 p.m. Recurring meetings will take place on the second Thursday of each month. Attendees can learn coping strategies and receive guidance from peers and grief clinician Donna Kane. For more information, contact Kane at [email protected].

Course before the Course
Explore the history of the Israeli Defense Forces and the various branches with the JCC of Greater Baltimore’s shinshinim. Maian Rahvalschi, Baltimore’s senior community shlicha (Israel emissary), will also be sharing her experiences as an education noncommissioned officer in the Israeli Navy training base. This event will take place at the Rosenbloom Owings Mills JCC at 3506 Gwynnbrook Ave., Suite 148 in Owings Mills. BJFF Opening Event: Exodus 91 & AvevA
See the new Israeli hybrid docu-narrative film, “Exodus 91,” at the Gordon Center from 7 to 9 p.m. The film recounts the experiences of diplomat Asher Naim, who led Operation Solomon, which was a diplomatic and military mission to bring thousands of Ethiopian Jews to Israel amid Ethiopia’s civil war. The film will be followed by a short performance and remarks from Ethiopian-Israeli singer-songwriter Aveva Dese.

Grief Support for the Loss of a Spouse
Connect with others who understand what you’re going through via Jewish Community Services’ eight-session grief series. The free series begins April 25 from 4 to 5 p.m. and will be held online through Zoom. Attendees will receive community support and learn new strategies for taking care of themselves while adjusting to life after loss. For attendance information, register online.
