Reunited and it Feels So Good: The DNA Reunion Project at CJH
Join Jennifer Mendelsohn, an internationally recognized Jewish genealogist, for a free look behind the scenes at a newly launched DNA reunion project
at the Center for Jewish History. The project seeks to use DNA to reunite families separated by the Holocaust by using free commercial DNA tests. Attendees will be able to learn more about how DNA testing is reuniting Jewish families around the world and how they can apply or support this program. This event will occur from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Bolton Street Synagogue, 212 W. Cold Spring Lane in Baltimore. For additional information contact Mendelsohn at [email protected].

Happy Glaze at the JCC
Express yourself with a fun indoor activity that friends and family are sure to enjoy at Happy Glaze, the JCC of Greater Baltimore’s paint-your-own-ceramics studio. The workshop is located at 5700 Park Heights Ave. in Baltimore. Drop in between noon and 4 p.m. on April 9 or between noon and 5 p.m. on April 10. Walk-ins are welcome, but attendees can preregister online for a guaranteed spot.

Enjoy a free Chol Hamoed Pesach Storytime with Bracha Goetz through the JCC of Greater Baltimore and The Goetz Bookshop & Publishing House. This event will feature an inspiring presentation from the author of 41 Jewish children’s books. Bring the whole family along to hear Bracha Goetz read one of her newest releases, followed by a Q&A for all ages, arts and crafts and children’s activities. This event will take place from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the community room at the Weinberg Park Heights JCC at 5700 Park Heights Ave. in Baltimore. This event is free and open to the community.

Yom HaShoah Commemoration 2023
Join Beth El Congregation at 4 p.m. for a day of commemoration and education, and honor and remember the victims and survivors of the Holocaust. This year’s commemoration will highlight the Warsaw Ghetto uprising and feature Judy Batalion. Batalion is the author of “The Light of Days: The Untold Story of Women Resistance Fighters in Hitler’s Ghettos.” This program is available both in person and online.
